EIKO Karate

I’m Sensei Adam Carrigan-Smith, I started Eiko Karate Association in 2023. I started off my Karate journey at the age of 4, 26 years later and I’ve had an amazing journey.

My earliest memory was as a white belt getting my first Karate Gi (suit) and feeling so excited to get started looking like a real life ninja.

From that moment I started my long path to where I am today. I was awarded my Black belt 1st Dan at the age of 13 which to this day was both the happiest moment of my life and the hardest.

After i got my hands on that belt I could fully focus on the Sport side of Karate I started entering into more competitions and was eventually asked to train with the England squad, after that I never looked back winning World, European and British titles at different age groups, weight classes and world governing bodies.

Unfortunately I suffered a knee injury which then I couldn’t get to the same level as I once was, I now run my own Karate club with the main focus of inspiring the next generation of Karateka (students) so they can reach that black belt and maybe become a world champion. As a club we are now affiliated with Kanzen Karate England, and I am a coach for that England team.
